DVC Named Among Best Places to Work in Industry for Scientists for Second Consecutive Year
DynPort Vaccine Company LLC (DVC), a CSC company, has been named to The Scientist magazine's 2009 Best Places to Work in Industry list. This is DVC's second consecutive year on the list. This year, DVC is ranked #7 among small companies and #8 among the top 30 companies. Previously, DVC was ranked #24 in the top 30 overall.
Respondents assessed their working environments according to 45 criteria in 8 categories including job satisfaction, benefits, training and integrity. Top priorities for respondents were room for career development, a family-friendly environment and less hierarchy. A total of 238 life science companies were represented.
DVC is listed among top pharmaceutical companies such as Novartis, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca, along with one other Maryland-based company, GeneDx.
DVC is wholly owned by CSC so it can offer large business amenities such as flexible spending accounts, flex time, tuition reimbursement/education assistance, scholarship program for children of employees, 401(k) plans, a corporate discount program and maternity parking while offering a small company work atmosphere.
The Scientist's June issue will be available in print and online June 1 and will feature detailed survey results with the top 30 companies overall and details of the top 10 large businesses and small businesses.
