Technology and Workplace Awards

It's not enough for us to just do our jobs. We strive for excellence, not only in protecting our nation from biothreats, but in our work environment. Some of DVC's technical and workplace achievements are listed below.

2011

• DVC was named to the Frederick County Best Places to Work 2011 list as the county's top large employer.

2010

• DVC was selected as one of three Business Health Award winners in this award's first year. The award was presented by Frederick Memorial Hospital and the Frederick Chamber of Commerce.

• Named to The Scientist Best Places to Work in Industry list for third consecutive year.  DVC ranked #9 among small companies and #13 among the top 30 companies.


• Selected as a recipient of The Gazette of Business and Politics Exceptional 53 Business Award for third consecutive year.  DVC ranked tenth among the Maryland businesses.

2009

• Selected as a recipient of The Gazette of Business and Politics Exceptional 53 Business Award for second consecutive year.


• Named to The Scientist Best Places to Work in Industry list.  DVC ranked #7 among small companies and #8 among the top 30 companies.


• The rF1V plague vaccine, which DVC is developing on behalf of CBMS-JVAP, was named as one of five finalists in the World Vaccine Congress 2009 Vaccine Industry Excellence Awards, in the category of Best Prophylactic Vaccine (approved or in development).


• Received Summit Award for Workforce Development from Frederick, Maryland Chamber of Commerce.


• DVC President Dr. Robert V. House was named Frederick Executive of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland.

2008

• Recipient of The Gazette of Politics and Business first Exceptional 53 business award. DVC ranked #12 of 53 top companies in Maryland.

• Named to The Scientist Best Places to Work in Industry list.

• Recognized with Frederick County, Maryland Top 10 Family Friendly Business Award.

2007

• Received Summit Award for Technology from Frederick, Maryland Chamber of Commerce.

2004

• Received Frederick County, Maryland Business Appreciation Award.

2003

• Named Biotechnology Firm of the Year by The Tech Council of Maryland.

• Received Governor's Citation recognition from the State of Maryland.

2002

• Received Frederick County, Maryland Business Appreciation Award.
