CSC Achieves Silver Ranking from Business in the Community’s 8th Corporate Responsibility Index
Nyhedsartikel -- Juni 08, 2011
FALLS CHURCH, Va., June 8 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has achieved a Silver ranking in Business in the Community’s (BITC) 2011 Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI), the U.K.’s leading voluntary benchmark of corporate responsibility.
The CRI helps companies to integrate and improve corporate responsibility throughout their business operations, by providing a systematic approach to managing, measuring and reporting on business impacts in society and on the environment.
Achieving a Silver level designation validates that CSC conducts effective stakeholder engagement, having the right processes in place in order to identify and manage risks and opportunities. Silver performance status companies also tend to have reliable baseline data which enables them to demonstrate both management and performance improvement.
"We are delighted to have been awarded Silver status within such a highly regarded Corporate Responsibility index,” said Andy Williams, president of CSC’s Northern European Operations. “CSC understands the importance of being a responsible business and is constantly looking at ways we can improve. Two of our key focus areas over the last year have been in community investment and environmental management practices. The progress we have made in these areas is endorsed by our results in the index."
“I congratulate CSC on achieving Silver in the 2011 BITC Corporate Responsibility Index,” said Stephen Howard, chief executive, Business in the Community. “It is a challenging time, but the results of this year’s Index demonstrate that companies are still focused on transforming their businesses in order to have a positive impact on society. All the companies who participated this year are at different stages in their responsible business journey, but they are all taking these issues seriously and are prepared to lead by example.”
The full results of the 2011 CRI, including commentary and analysis, are published in the Financial Times Responsible Business supplement today.
