CSC Cloud Services Achieve SAP Certification
Nyhedsartikel -- December 07, 2010
Experience Implementing SAP® Solutions and High Marks in Delivering Value to Customers Through Business Process Virtualization Key to New Certification
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Dec. 7 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced that it is one of the first global providers of cloud services to be certified by SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) for delivering SAP® solutions to clients through its Trusted Cloud Services portfolio. As such, CSC can deliver SAP applications via a cloud-based model, enabling enterprises to realize the cost savings and efficiencies provided by its entire suite of services.
“CSC is honored to achieve this certification from our longstanding partner, SAP, and we are excited about our continued joint efforts to help businesses realize the benefits of cloud technology in conjunction with the Virtual Computing Environment coalition,” said Siki Giunta, vice president, Cloud Computing and Software Services, CSC. “CSC is a leader in delivering industry-specific SAP solutions via the cloud, such as our Sustainability Managed Service, Legal Solutions Suite and Insurance Optics. In addition, we are delivering more standardized cloud-based solutions such as our Performance Testing Suite and cloud infrastructure.”
SAP's entire suite of services, when used together with CSC's advanced Trusted Cloud capabilities, can deliver new levels of agility, transparency and efficiency. CSC takes a “business first” approach when implementing Trusted Cloud Services — evaluating business processes and identifying ideal workloads to generate the greatest ROI for the enterprise. CSC assists clients in managing these critical technical programs, drawing on extensive experience from CSC outsourcing engagements in platform consolidation and virtualization and data center migration.
“The certification of CSC as a provider of cloud services confirms its capabilities to deliver SAP applications via its cloud delivery platform,” said Michael Ressemann, global head of Outsourcing Services and Solution Delivery, SAP AG. “SAP customers can benefit from comprehensive and innovative service offerings from CSC, which are scalable and will help them meet their technical and security requirements via the cloud.”
To achieve this certification and help ensure high-quality standards for cloud-based delivery of SAP applications, a provider’s cloud delivery platform must undergo extensive testing by SAP to validate the operational integration of the cloud-computing platform with supported applications. This includes assessment of the company’s infrastructure, processes and technical staff. The audit also includes a technical review of the physical and logical security processes, as well as portal and underlying infrastructure including servers, software and storage capabilities. By working with certified SAP partners, customers can be confident that the services provided are compliant with SAP’s requirements for quality, availability and security.
CSC has been a strategic business partner of SAP for more than 30 years, and this latest certification adds to a growing list of achievements, including:
- SAP global hosting partner
- SAP global services partner
- SAP-certified global provider of application management services
- SAP channel partner
- Certification in SAP Value Management methodology
