CSC to Provide Clients With Symantec Security Offerings in the Cloud
Nyhedsartikel -- April 13, 2010
Partners to Deliver Expanded Security Capabilities and Next-Generation Cloud Solutions
LAS VEGAS, April 13 -- CSC (NYSE: CSC), a leading global provider of IT services, cloud computing and cyber security today announced that it is extending its current technology alliance with Symantec to help accelerate the delivery of a full suite of CSC’s trusted cloud services. As part of CSC’s program of partners to bring digital trust to the cloud, CSC will now provide Symantec Hosted Services, in addition to Symantec security products for businesses and government agencies worldwide.
Together, CSC and Symantec will provide enterprise clients with comprehensive, world-class cloud-based security solutions and services. Building on their existing global strategic alliance, CSC and Symantec will deliver solutions that meet enterprise and government security requirements effectively, especially as more applications and data move to the cloud to take advantage of faster implementation, enhanced security and lower costs.
“CSC is always looking for best-of-breed technologies to use in services for our clients, both in the cloud and in more traditional styles of delivery,” said Russ Owen, president of CSC’s Managed Services Sector (MSS). “Our network of alliance partners is among the very best and expanding this strategic alliance with Symantec will help us to drive even more complete and integrated IT solutions to enterprises across the world. Our newly expanded and next-generation trusted cloud service capabilities will enable organizations to better use security as a strategic tool and business value builder.”
“Symantec’s 2010 State of Enterprise Security study revealed that 75 percent of organizations experienced cyber attacks in the past 12 months and these attacks cost businesses an average of $2 million per year,” said Greg Hughes, president, Enterprise Products Group, Symantec. “Together, Symantec and CSC will offer industry-leading security products, including trusted cloud services combined with proven professional services to help customers protect their most critical information from today’s complex threats while effectively managing cost and complexity.”
CSC will now offer Symantec’s Hosted Services to enhance the security offerings available to its growing base of trusted cloud clients. The new security offerings broaden the choice of strong security options available to CSC customers, while enabling Symantec to significantly expand its global distribution channel.
New Offerings to Benefit Enterprise Customers
- Symantec customers will have access to CSC’s Cyber Security Solutions, a group of 1,400 security professionals who design, implement and integrate holistic security solutions worldwide.
- Beginning in May 2010, CSC will extend its current portfolio of managed security services (MSS) based on Symantec technology to include Symantec’s Hosted Services under the CSC logo.
