2008 Amgen Tour of California

The 2008 edition of the Amgen Tour of California commenced February 17 and lasted through February 24.

Once again, Team CSC played a major role in this third edition of America's premier cycling road race.

The 700-mile race began with a short but intense individual time trial on the campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto. CSC's Fabian Cancellara won handily. Then, in Stage 1, from Sausalito to Santa Rosa, CSC's Juan José Haedo won in a sprint finish. Subsequent stages took riders through Sacramento, Modesto, San Jose, Seaside, San Louis Obispo, Solvang, Santa Barbara, and Santa Clarita (where Haedo was second). The final stage ended with a difficult point-to-point race, culminating in the historic Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where CSC's Jason McCartney took third.

In the overall category, CSC's Fabian Cancellara finished fourth and Gustav Larsson finished fifth.
