Take the Test: This self-assessment questionnaire can help you determine your chances for success with your merger integration project.

Before taking the test, decide whether you are taking it for the overall project, or for a subset (e.g., manufacturing, IT). Take the test as a group: the discussions that ensue may be more enlightening than the score itself.

For each statement below, decide whether you strongly agree, slightly agree, slightly disagree, or strongly disagree. Then score yourself as suggested below:

 

 

Scoring and interpretation

For each “Strongly agree” give yourself 10 points. For each “Slightly agree” give yourself 6 points. For each “Slightly disagree” give yourself 4 points. There are no points for “Strongly disagree.”

Your total score will be between 0 and 100. If you scored:

0 – 40 points       Integration success is at high risk. Address the success factors before proceeding.

41 – 60 points      Integration success is at risk. Proceed with caution while addressing the success factors.

61 – 80 points      Most success factors are in place. Examine selected areas.

81 – 100 points    Congratulations! Your chances of success are better than most.
