CSC successful in bid to provide additional IT supplier capacity to NHS

Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has been successful in its bid to provide the NHS with contingency of supply across a range of IT products and services under NHS Connecting for Health’s Additional Supply Capability & Capacity (ASCC) framework contracts.

The recent ASCC award (Lot 2) was for contingency of supply for clinical IT products and services and CSC also achieved success in an earlier issue (Lots 1, 3 and 4) which was for non-clinical and business IT products and services.

The ASCC framework contracts have been created by the NHS to offer an extended range of IT products and services, supporting both NHS business and clinical applications, at national, regional and local level. The new agreements will complement the existing suite of NPfIT and NHS current contracts, for which CSC already provides services in the North, Midlands and East of England under the NHS National Programme for IT. These current contracts will not be amended by ASCC arrangements.

Gerry O’Keeffe, CSC Vice President who leads on the NHS Account said of CSC’s success:

“This is good news for CSC as it shows continuing confidence in our abilities to supply IT and business services to the NHS. CSC’s success in the ASCC framework agreements - combined with our current work as a Local Service Provider for the National Programme for IT - will ensure that we continue to deliver services that will be of real benefit to the NHS.”
