Honors included both a Best Practice Award in the Leadership category and an Excellence Award in the Learning Technology category.
Top 100 Learning Organization
After an in-depth assessment of our learning-and-development capabilities and overall performance, Elearning! Media Group named CSC a 2011 “Learning! 100 Award” winner. Special recognition went to our innovative Leadership Academy, which provides skill and career growth opportunities for our executives, senior leaders, managers and team leads.
Learn at Work
Learn at Work Day strengthens our global team by raising awareness about the learning tools, resources and methods available to our employees. Along with colleagues in other parts of the world, nearly 500 CSC India employees participated in Learn at Work Day activities, sharing their technical knowledge and enhancing teamwork at our offices in Noida, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Samskruthi 2010: Unlimited Fun. Guaranteed.
Four thousand CSCers in India participated in a 3-month sports and cultural festival that featured approximately 50 events. From dance performances and fashion shows to athletic competitions, employees took advantage of a host of opportunities to showcase their talents and enhance teamwork and organizational skills.
Diversity. Ability. Opportunity.
“Don’t Check Who You Are at the Door”: At CSC, we value our diversity and the talents and perspectives we bring, across functional roles, markets and industries, length of service, geography, education, age, race, gender, sexual preference and ethnicity. The unique strengths and points of view we celebrate in our lives away from the office are the very same things we value in the workplace. Every day, our success comes from translating the tremendous global diversity of our company into excellent performance and business results.
First-Ever CSC Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) Appointed
Reporting to the chief executive officer (CEO) and the vice president of human resources, CDO Jose Jimenez spearheads the implementation of programs to advance diversity and inclusion within CSC. In this role, he works closely with other executives globally to develop business initiatives that enhance customer and community relationships and that strengthen our ability to attract diverse talent in all markets.
Formerly a CSC president of strategy and development, Mr. Jimenez has provided leadership to many diversity initiatives within our North American Public Sector (NPS) unit, and he has built strong relationships with external diversity organizations. Recently he was honored by the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) with the Estrella Award, which recognizes an industry leader who has made a major contribution to the advancement of technology and diversity.
“It is a privilege to have been named chief diversity officer for CSC and to continue our strong legacy of diversity and inclusion. For over 50 years, CSC has demonstrated a commitment to our clients, employees and the communities we serve. We have won many awards for excellence in diversity and inclusion as well as supplier diversity.
We cannot, however, rely on history, but must move forward, look to the future and improve on our past performance. Diversity and inclusion are critical elements and enablers that allow us to deliver business results and achieve our growth objectives. Therefore, we have a business imperative to ensure success.”
— Jose Jimenez
Open for Business
At outreach events like the NSA Mentor-Protégé Workshop, the Reservation Economic Summit & American Indian Business Trade Fair, and the Virginia Business Opportunity Fair, we created connections to increase the diversity of our supplier partnerships. Our work with small, minority-owned and other underrepresented businesses also includes quarterly workshops hosted at CSC offices.
A Disability Inclusion Leader
In recognition of our commitment to recruiting and hiring people with disabilities, Springboard Consulting honored us with a 2011 Disability Matters Workplace Award. In addition, a U.S. Chamber of Commerce report featured information on our disability inclusion practices.
Celebrating International Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day, hundreds of us joined an around-the-world virtual event that opened in Australia and closed on the West Coast of the United States. Offline, we gathered at local offices or client/partner locations to choose submissions for a digital time capsule, to be opened on International Women’s Day in 2021.
Service to Those Who Serve
Throughout our history, we’ve grown stronger thanks to the unique skills and experiences of those who answer the call to serve. Today, close to 10,000 of us and approximately 20 percent of our U.S. team are military veterans. During the past decade, hundreds of CSCers have been called from our work into active military duty. By creating the most military-friendly workplace anywhere, we provide support to active service members and help veterans and their families find new careers.
A Top Military-Friendly Employer
Outstanding leadership skills, a strong work ethic and the ability to solve challenging problems: These are just some of the reasons we welcomed 3,000 veterans to CSC in one recent year alone. In recognition of our active recruiting in the military community, GI Jobs magazine named us a 2010 Top Military-Friendly Employer.
Active Recruitment of Wounded Warriors
Through our Military Recruitment Program, we reached out to wounded warriors by participating in the Hiring Heroes and Wounded Warrior Regiment Career Fairs, and by partnering with the Warriors to Work Program. In addition, we are still one of the few organizations to provide transitional support to active military personnel.
Relocation Support and More for Military Spouses
Military spouses who join our team benefit from relocation support, rewarding opportunities at offices located on U.S. military installations worldwide, job mobility and more. In recognition, Military Spouse magazine recognized us for the fourth straight year as one of America’s Top 10 Military Spouse-Friendly Employers. In addition, we were invited to participate in First Lady Michelle Obama’s JoiningForces.gov initiative in support of service members and their families. And we continued to develop partnerships with the National Military Spouse Network, the Military Spouse Employment Program and Blue Star Families to help military spouses realize their professional goals.
Best for Vets
We make a point of providing opportunities to veterans through recruiting, training, mentoring and military reserve support. In recognition of these efforts, Military Times EDGE magazine named us a Best for Vets Employer in 2010.
Connecting Service Members with Loved Ones
Thousands of CSC employees are military veterans, and we were honored to receive the Connecticut American Legion 2010 Employer of Veterans Award, in recognition of the CSC Laptops to Troops program and our commitment to veteran recruitment and hiring. A CSCer and U.S. Army veteran created Laptops for Troops after service members in Afghanistan lost their personal belongings in an attack. We donated 65 refurbished laptops to help these soldiers stay in contact with their families back home.
A STRONG FOUNDATION
At CSC, our employees are the foundation of all we have accomplished and everything we strive to achieve. The innovative ideas, diverse perspectives and technical prowess of our EMPLOYEES highly skilled professionals come together every day to transform client enterprises, our communities and the company, globally.
