Corporate Responsibility Programs - South America
On "Children's Day," CSCers from the Brasilia, Rio Janeiro, and Sao Paulo offices volunteered their time and energy while also making donations to support the creation of special kits for each child. The kits contained clothes, shoes, books, and toys, among other items. Recipients included kindergartners from underserved neighborhoods, children who are being treated for cystic fibrosis, and children who must live apart from their families by court order.
In Sao Paolo, CSC Brazil employees continue to work in the community through a collaboration with Associação Grupo Sol, an organization that coordinates outreach efforts to shelters, nursing homes, and hospitals. In the coming months, CSC volunteers will distribute kits with school supplies to dozens of children from the impoverished communities served by Associação Grupo Sol.
Other activities have included:
The donation of 50 computer components to the NPO "Quero- Quero", located in Carapicuiba, Sao Paulo. The organization is dedicated to the helping to computer literacy for children with neuromotor disabilities.
Food donations in Rio de Janeiro for Casa de Apoio à Criança com Câncer (Instituition for children with Cancer)
Since 2013 CSC Brazil has selected the institution Doutores da Alegria to collaborate on community giving. With this institution, CSC Brazil organizes its Christmas action and donates funds on behalf of its clients. Doutores da Alegria is a civil society nonprofit organization which has been working since 1991 with hospitalized children, their parents and health professionals in order to organize games and playful activities.
For 2015 CSC Brazil's goal is to focus on four main initiatives: Campaign for School Supplies in January and February, Book Donation Campaign in April, Festa Junina (typical Brazilian Party) in June and July, Campaign for Children's Day in October and "Kindness Christmas" in December. Each campaign will have an executive as sponsor. In parallel, CSC Brazil organizes donation campaigns for groceries, hygiene products. A specific campaign for computer equipment no longer in use is organized for institutions which work in the professionalization of adolescents and also for institutions that are school boosters for public school students. Actions will start in São Paulo, being extended to Rio de Janeiro and then São José do Rio Preto, the three locations where CSC is present in Brazil.
