CSC is committed to safeguarding and enhancing the health and wellbeing of our people to improve their quality of life and optimise their contribution to the organisation and its clients.
We are committed to establishing a culture that drives the prevention of injury and ill health and encourages individuals to achieve a beneficial work and home life balance.
Our Employee Wellbeing Programme aims to provide support, guidance and information and give our people the impetus to take control of their ‘personal wellbeing’. Our medical and occupational health strategy addresses the top three health risks we have identified: mental health; lifestyle factors (eg exercise, nutrition, smoking, obesity); and ergonomic factors (eg repetitive strain injury). The Programme provides an integrated and cost effective service to all employees and meets the business needs of managers and our company.
The programme’s success criteria include:
• Delivering a better services to our customers
• Caring for our people and managing ill health effectively
• Improving personal and organisational wellbeing
• Energising people and building their resilience to both business demands and personal psycho social life events
• Improving the reputation and provision of OH Services
• Making CSC a great place to work.
RESULTS
FY11 highlights: Our Wellbeing programme continues to promote a healthier and more resilient workforce with initiatives, including:
- Healthy heart days
- Building resilient teams seminar
- Weight management seminars
- Physical activity challenges
- Fitness classes
- Sleep problem seminars
- Male/female cancer awareness seminars
- Quit smoking advice
In our latest annual Wellbeing survey 1,545 staff said the Wellbeing programme had made a difference to their health and they felt more valued as an employee as a result of the programme.
