As part of a Supply Chain Redesign Project, CSC led this Entertainment Provider through a selection process for Order Management and Key Event Notification systems capability. The Entertainment Provider was changing their distribution model bringing over twice the current volume through their warehouse and transportation lanes. To accomplish this change their systems needed to:
- Handle more order volume
- Alert the Order Management team when customer orders are running into problems
- Alert the Procurement Team when purchase orders or delivery problems were occurring
The CSCXPress Model
The CSC Team along with a dedicated client team:
- Developed a Vision and Guiding Principles, and Key Discriminating factors for these business areas
- Conducted scripted demonstrations with alternative solutions
- Conducted a package gap analysis with alternative solutions
- Completed vendor selection and supported pricing negotiations
- Established the organizational commitment, staffing, decision process, and funding necessary to succeed in this approach as an enterprise
- Established implementation governance, project team structure, and initial deployment schedule
Maximizing Investment
The benefits from being able to achieve identified Critical Success Factors were:
- $40M through reduced supply chain costs
- Control product distribution to all channels
- Additional opportunities to change rebate and payment models to distributors
The CSCXPressSM portion of this project lasted four weeks.Within this time frame, the client was able to select a solution which included new components to the ERP system they were presently using. This not only enables sharing of resources but will allow the single ERP system solution to work for all headquarters, service and sales locations. In this way, they will be able to provide systems and data integration and availability to their partners, customers, vendors, and their internal organization to meet our strategic goals.
