CSC Announces 'Innovative Service Transformation' IT Business Service Management Solution
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Sciences
Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced Innovative Service Transformation (iST), a new global service offering designed to help clients make the shift from traditional technology-driven information technology (IT) support to a business service management (BSM) model in which IT services are fully aligned with business objectives, metrics and results.
The latest addition to CSC's expanding Results-Driven Computing family of applications and services, iST integrates with existing IT management systems, correlating performance data into object-oriented views that span the entire technology environment. These views are displayed through a Web-based performance portal that lets clients see performance in real time.
iST then uses CSC's proven methodology for mapping critical business processes to help define business-driven performance metrics and reports.
The methodology also identifies gaps in existing performance measurements to more accurately align service expectations with business needs.
Once the business criteria has been defined, the iST performance portal is updated to display IT performance as it relates to business process needs, in real time and through reports available online to both senior executives and IT leaders.
"Our clients have told us they need IT support that adds measurable
value to their business," said Russ Owen, president of CSC's Global
Infrastructure Services business unit. "iST not only helps CSC and its clients deliver technology support in keeping with business demands, but is also a powerful tool to measure business performance itself."
"iST is an innovative new service offering from CSC designed to address business demand for real-time monitoring, clear reporting and proactive management of critical IT functions as they relate to application and business process performance," said Andy Efstathiou, program manager at the Yankee Group.
CSC uses Formula from Managed Objects as iST's primary software platform. The company selected Formula based on flexibility, cost effectiveness and ability to provide rapid, out-of-the-box integration for standard industry enterprise management systems, mainframe management systems, help desk applications, business process management tools, and a variety of other sources of system and management data.
