The global E&P market is focused on the search for and exploitation of oil and gas reserves around the planet. The United States does not produce enough oil to meet current consumer demand, and must therefore import 60 percent of our domestic needs.

This paper looks at the state of national oil companies and alternative and nuclear energies and specifically how the oil and gas industries need to face certain market condition challenges and look at IT opportunities.
