CSC Provides Service To Manage UK Visa Application Process
|
CSC is currently providing a business process outsourcing service to UKvisas, a joint UK Home Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office directorate which operates as the overseas arm of the UK's integrated border management initiative. Under the terms of this contract CSC has responsibility for transforming and managing the process of administering Visa applications. This has involved the establishment of Visa Application Centres (VACs) and Micro-VACs in three regions covering 15 countries throughout Europe, the Americas and Noth Africa and the Middle East. |

As a part of this service, CSC is responsible for the provision of information to Visa applicants through a variety of channels, including multilingual call centres and web sites, as well as the capture of biometric details of all Visa applicants, including photographs and fingerprints.
All applicants for a UK Visa must now apply in person through a VAC or Micro-VAC. Micro-VACs are locations at which applicants may provide their biometric data after having first completed their application online at www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk. While CSC is responsible for providing UKvisas services, responsibility for deciding the outcome of each visa application and the issuing of visas remains with the appropriate British Diplomatic Mission.
Changes and improvements to the UK visa application process are part of the UK's Managed Migration Strategy and Global Commercial Partnership Program.
