| Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) is essential to the design and life cycle support of systems. It includes influencing the design to improve supportability, maintenance planning (to identify maintenance tasks and determine which trade will perform them, how long it will take, and what materiel, spares, tools and test equipment, etc. will be needed), provisioning, development of manuals and training, and logistic support over the full life cycle. | ![]() |
Bernard Hough of CSC developed our ILS Course and has been teaching it successfully for over 22 years now. The course has been continuously improved to keep pace with changes in technology, methodology, standards, procurement strategies, etc.
Procurement and development processes and current technology are discussed for each support product category. Also, new issues such as performance based logistics and obsolescence management have become important aspects.
Especially important has been the emergence of a more commercial approach to ILS, rather than merely following the dictates of the MIL-STDs. Each student attending the course will receive a complete textbook.
