These leverageable products offer best-in-class solutions for PC Standard Operating Environment ("SOE") configurations, PC Refresh and Migration, PC Systems Management, centralized elevated support and patch integration, and self-help / self-heal services. All products are supported by a world-class dedicated lab for the development and independent systems test of Core product offerings.
Peers within Desktop Engineering in other CSC locations complement these offerings with additional products such as hardware standards for end-user devices, Mobile Handheld standard software and integration with corporate systems, Managed Print services, and PC remote backup services.
PC Standard Operating Environment
CSC's Standard Operating Environment ("SOE") is a Core leverageable offering for PCs, which incorporates CSC best practices via selective CSC-proprietary technology integrated with offerings from PC OEM hardware and software vendors. CSC Core standard hardware and software are maintained in the Global Outsourcing Service (GOS) standards catalogue and evolved for use by globally-distributed CSC accounts.

PC Refresh and Migration
CSC's standard migration toolset Remote Asset Preparation and Image Deployment ("RAPID") provides Core products which support large-scale PC refresh activities and PC transformations. RAPID is a collection of integrated products that perform the following functions:
- Asset discovery and analysis;
- Application packaging and migration preparation;
- Data migration and disaster recovery; and
- SOE (Core) and application deployment.
These tools provide early discovery of software and hardware assets, mass image and software deployment tools, and planning/tracking databases and processes for mass deployment activities.
RAPID's components are capable of leveraging the capabilities and information already collected by tools such as Microsoft's SMS and allows for the tasks associated with both preparation and deployment (or re-imaging) of the end user workspace to be setup and conducted over the network. In this manner, the need to institute physical deskside visits to complete the refresh activity is dramatically reduced and, in some cases, completely eliminated.

PC Systems Management
CSC standard PC systems management tools provide for ongoing asset management, patch management and software deployments, leveraging and extending vendor solutions such as BMC's Configuration Automation for Clients and Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager.
Standardized configurations for such tools are enhanced for ease of deployment and ease of operation, including end-user self-directed software installs.
Standard PC Remote Control solutions are offered as Core products, and deployed for multi-account leverageable usage, as well as offered for single-account dedicated usage where specific account security requirements may dictate.
Standard Antivirus and AntiSpyware solutions are offered, utilizing tailored configurations of products from one or more leading OEM software suppliers.
PC Elevated Support and Patch Integration
The Core products group provides centralized tracking of software patches from key vendors, and offers these to globally-distributed accounts in packages designed for ease of deployment. Elevated support is provided centrally to global accounts using standard PC products, for efficiency of access to ongoing subject matter expertise.
PC Self-Help and Self-Heal services are also centrally developed and provided to accounts world-wide.
PC Interoperability Lab
CSC Canada utilizes a large-scale, dedicated, PC Interoperability lab located in its Kanata, Ontario facility to provide lab and test environments to the various Core development teams, for development and verification of the various Core PC standard products. Additionally, this lab is leveraged by other teams world-wide with similar requirements for dedicated lab facilities, complete with remote access capabilities
