Our customer, one of Australia's big four, wanted a compliance solution that would allow them to manage multiple specialist suppliers in their security environment, and enable them to report rapidly and accurately on the status of that environment.
The Challenge
Our customer chooses to consume security services from a number of different service providers, each chosen for a specific expertise.
However this presented challenges to the contract management team, who approached CSC for advice on how to manage, describe and report on the whole security environment – a governance solution.
Improved visibility and reporting would mean more confidence throughout the organisation that the security team was taking care of the business – protecting customers’ financial information and ensuring that their transactions and interactions were secure and complied with industry and government regulations.
The Solution
CSC Cybersecurity offered an enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance (eGRC) hosting solution that delivers:
- An enterprise wide view of the security posture and reporting of the customer’s security services
- Improved risk & security governance across multiple vendors in the environment
- A “standardised and consistent” framework that provides improved governance and oversight for the security program as a whole
- A baseline set of metrics for ISO27001/2, with appropriate SLAs, visibility and transparency of costs and IT Risk& Governance compliance reporting for all service providers
The Results
CSC and our customer together succeeded in proving that the eGRC solution met their requirement for a more visible, holistic security solution for key customer and transaction information, and that delivering Archer as a hosted service in our data centre provided both cost and availability advantages.
