CSC Names Bob Hayward Chief Technology and Innovation Officer for Operations in Australia and Asia
Sydney, Australia, 14 May, 2009 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced that Bob Hayward has been named chief technology and innovation officer of CSC’s operations in Australia and Asia. In this role, Hayward will be responsible for the overall direction and business management of CSC’s technology offerings and innovation programs in Australia and Asia. He will be a key contributor to CSC’s global and local Office of Innovation which includes the Leading Edge Forum, a team of global thought leaders who offer world-class research, ideas, frameworks, case studies and events that identify emerging business and IT practices. He will also play an active role in CSC’s Account Innovation Programs which brings relevant and proactive innovation and thought leadership from around the globe to CSC clients. Some of the technologies he will initially focus on include cloud computing, web 2.0 and hosted virtual desktops.
Prior to joining CSC, Hayward was a director of KPMG’s information technology (IT) Advisory Services, a line of business with 6,000 consultants and global revenues of AUD$2 billion.Previously, he was Gartner’s senior vice president and research fellow for Asia Pacific and Japan, where he advised enterprises with their IT strategies, organisation, governance and technology decisions, and authored ground-breaking several pieces of research. Before that, Hayward held senior positions with Candle Corporation and was responsible for introducing Tivoli Systems into Asia. “As an internationally recognised expert in information and communication technologies, Bob has a unique perspective on emerging technologies and a sound understanding of the dynamics of the technology markets,” said Nick Wilkinson, president of CSC’s operations in Australia. “Having set up, grown and managed several successful IT businesses in his 30-year career, Bob brings to CSC an extensive network of connections to politicians, technology leaders, academics, researchers and IT professionals.” In November 2008, Hayward was elected director of the board for the Australian Information Industries Association (AIIA) and is leading the national AIIA environmentally sustainable IT task force, an initiative dedicated to helping government, business and consumers reduce and manage emissions, carbon footprints and waste.
