Systems Integration is Dead. Long Live Services Integration

Rapid technological change is driving a new approach to providing and procuring IT: services integration. As internal and external customers alike demand fast access to more personalised and more mobile services, businesses must prepare to respond – or risk being left behind.
This means companies must build collaborative business models and ecosystems that enable innovation and create new customer experiences. CIOs must become business partners who can anticipate needs and provide solutions for internal stakeholders, delivering value and contributing to the bottom line.
Services integration will achieve this. Rather than overseeing the creation of bespoke hardware and software systems and solutions – the realm of systems integration – CIOs must become experts in procuring and supplying on-demand services. This has radical implications for business models and relationships with customers and technology partners.
