Legal Solutions Suite Built with Users in Mind

CSC's Legal Solutions Suite software is used by more than 6,000 law firms to submit invoices electronically over the Web. It'ss designed to simplify the billing process, track outside counsel and promote best practices in managing legal matters. In the latest release (Version 2.3.1), CSC incorporated new functions and made numerous improvements to make it easier and faster to use.
The new release marks the first time that Legal Solutions Suite had been tested by CSC's Usability Lab. CSC’s specialised lab is designed to measure users’ reaction to software applications in a controlled one-on-one testing environment. The testing administrator records the physical movements and verbal observations of software users, evaluates responses and follows up with recommendations for improvements.
"With thousands of legal professionals across North America using Legal Solutions Suite, ease of use is a critical factor for productivity," said Joe Benson, CSC's Legal Solutions director of development.
"We put Legal Solutions Suite through the same rigorous testing that CSC applies to software for leading U.S. insurance companies. We also identified several areas of improvement that will directly benefit users of the software."
Licensed by leading insurance companies to manage claim-related litigation, Legal Solutions Suite also helps corporate legal departments manage a wide variety of legal matters. And a growing number of self-insured organisations and risk pools are turning to Legal Solutions Suite, which integrates with CSC's RISKMASTER, the industry's most comprehensive claims and risk management software. Legal Solutions Suite also integrates with CSC's leading insurance systems, Exceed and POINT IN.
Highlights of the new release include:
- Improved Color Palettes: A new color scheme in Legal Solutions Suite improves the overall look and feel of the application. Developed in conjunction with graphic designers and CSC's Usability Lab, the new look has received positive feedback from current users and prospects.
- Matter Page Redesign: A redesigned Matter page improves the workflow for calling up matter information. The page is now a combination of two different pages and allows users to search more efficiently for information.
- To Do List Redesign: A redesigned To Do List gives claim professionals and attorneys a more logical screen layout. The new color palettes were incorporated to give the screen a more appealing view.
- Financial Dashboard: A financial dashboard – the first of several proposed dashboards – is included in Release 2.3.1. The financial dashboard gives users greater perspective on how much money is flowing through Legal Solutions Suite. Divisions, offices and law firms can be compared on a yearly basis to determine where a company's legal spend is concentrated.
- Usability Enhancements: Overall, CSC incorporated more than 20 different usability improvements into Release 2.3.1. These enhancements will improve the end user’s experience with Legal Solutions Suite.
