CSC Listed in 'Leaders' Quadrant of Data Center Outsourcing Report
Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that it has been listed in the "leaders" quadrant of the Gartner Inc. analyst report, Data Center Outsourcing Magic Quadrant. The October 2003 report positions the top 14 external service providers based on their ability to execute and their completeness of vision.
According to Gartner, "Leaders are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market." To qualify for the report, external service providers needed at least $50 million in annual data center outsourcing revenues and 10 North American client references.
"Our highly experienced data center professional staff puts a great deal of thought and energy into effective, innovative service delivery," said Russ Owen, president of CSC's Global Infrastructure Services group. "I am pleased that CSC's performance on our client engagements has significantly contributed to Gartner's evaluation of CSC."
According to Gartner, the leaders cited in the report demonstrated significant depth and breadth of experience, and understood the need to successfully deliver services. Gartner characterizes data center outsourcing services as one of the most mature information technology (IT) categories available in the market today where share is gained over time and through positive experiences. Gartner determines the positioning of the service providers within the Magic Quadrant based on formal presentations by participating vendors, client reference checks, and analyst knowledge of the market and enterprise wants and needs.
